Brad Keselowski Stars in new ESPN “This is SportsCenter” Commercial

To celebrate the return of NASCAR Sprint Cup racing to ESPN with this Sunday’s Brickyard 400, ESPN introduced “Windows,” the latest addition to the iconic “This is SportsCenter” franchise, starring NASCAR champion Brad Keslowski and Western Kentucky University mascot Big Red.

In the 30-second spot, the burly Hilltopper is spotted in the parking lot of ESPN’s Bristol, Conn. headquarters, relentlessly trying to get a ride home in Keslowski’s race car instead of anchor Kevin Negandhi’s minivan. Big Red finds the traditional way NASCAR drivers enter their cars to be a bit of a challenge.

For Keselowski, driver of the No. 2 Miller Lite Ford for Penske Racing, being in a “This is SportsCenter” spot is a checkmark on a bucket list.

"I’ve been a fan of ‘This is SportsCenter’ commercials since I was a kid, never thinking that I would be able to do my own one day," he said. "Every athlete wants their own SportsCenter commercial. It gives you a sense that you have finally arrived because they are a big deal.

"I love the one about whether Brett Favre is coming back or not. It has the UMass Minuteman putting two lanterns in the window to mean he is coming back, playing off the Paul Revere story.
"The bar has been set high so there is a little pressure when doing one," he said. "This spot is really funny and something that I am very proud of. I hope fans of our sport, along with sports fans in general, will get a kick out of it."

Wieden + Kennedy New York is the creative agency for the commercial along with the This is SportsCenter campaign, launched in 1995.
